Educator Kiran Bir Sethi’s built her career “looking beyond what exists in order to explore better ways to prepare her students for an uncertain future.” Through her many endeavors, one of which was founding the Riverside School in India, she appears to thrive when helping children. This is true in the work that she has done to help her students become the voice of a new generation of activist working to improve the lives of others.
I’d like to share Kiran’s hard work and dedication (from a recent TEDTalk) because I feel that I, too, share a vision that children can and will succeed when we push them past what is comfortable; encouraging them to excel in ways that even they cannot imagine. And, we also share the idea that creating confident and caring children is a win, win for all of us. Emphasizing her students’ natural curiosity and empathy, Kiran is working to create a generation of children who will grow up to be a group of adults who just might change the world … one courageous act at a time. Enjoy! tlb
