Is it time to update the KWL chart for student learning? I discovered a KWL chart for the 21st century on Twitter yesterday which suggest the time has come to rethink the way we track what students know. Is it time to get beyond what students know (K), what they want to know (W), and what they have learned (L)? I would argue it is time to ask students to get more involved (to take action) in their learning. Once they have identified the action they will take to increase their learning (A), we should then ask them to tell us how they will find new information (H), and what other questions they have as a result of this process (Q). tlb
