“There are years that ask questions and years that answer” – Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God
An unstoppable force in a male dominated field of writers during the Harlem Renaissance, Zora Neale Hurston was truly a pioneer among her peers. Ms. Hurston’s writing represented the voices of the rural south that she treasured, and that her most famous characters, Janie and Tea Cake, loved so much in her novel Their Eyes Were Watching God. One of my favorite authors, Ms. Hurston inspired generations of writers to stay true to their authentic voice. tlb
