“Linked Learning:” Vocational Education Redux

In keeping with my first blog of the day, I also thought I’d share this article from latimes.com all about California’s attempt to provide “relevance to students’ studies [while] setting them on a career path.”

Taking a page from the 1950’s, California has launched a 21st century version of “shop” or “vocational education” in an attempt to make learning come to life for thousands of high schoolers who will leave their schools seeking jobs. This isn’t revolutionary education but it may provide a structure that will help high school and college students better prepare for a good career in the future. tlb
