The lives of four Greensboro, North Carolina college freshmen changed forever on the 1st of February 1960. It is on this day, 45 years ago, that these men walked into history after taking seats at the counter of a local Woolworth five-and-dime. When searching for examples of courage, there is no better example than the actions of four courageous African-American men who decided not only to stand up for themselves but to stand up for the rights of a nation.
