Inspiring Educators Who Inspire Future Leaders

Leave a Trail

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Ralph Waldo Emerson

I just received a message from a colleague … more a reminder … that yesterday was the 61st birthday of Ruby Bridges. The first African-American child to integrate a white Southern elementary school, Ruby Bridges was a symbol of hope, courage, and determination at the very young age of six. This birthday milestone is not only significant for Ms. Bridges but it is also noteworthy in the history of American education. I hope to inspire children to create their own trails. tlb
