Inspiring Educators Who Inspire Future Leaders

Who Will Teach Them to Fly?

flight

Happy New School Year! This week, the new school year began for me and it was everything I hoped it would be. Students returned to school this week with lots of energy, fun summer stories, and (my favorite thing) an eagerness to learn. Even as I began my twenty something new school year, it struck me once again what a huge responsibility it is to groom the next generation of learners. And I can say without any hesitation that I, once again, accept the honor and responsibility.

What are my hopes for the new school year? I have many but the most important is to continue to help my students learn how to fly. Our world is changing – it is getting smaller and to some extent meaner than when I was a child. Therefore, I believe I have an obligation to provide a solid foundation for my students that will help them grow to be successful adults.

How will I get the job done? I intend to work with my team to keep the needs of children front and center. I also intend to remember their ability to take flight depends on us. Who will teach them to fly? I will! tlb
